Education
Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. David Altamira, received his undergraduate training at Texas A&M University where he graduated summa cum laude, and was named as the most outstanding undergraduate student in the College of Science as a senior. Dr. David Altamira obtained his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, where he graduated with high honors and was awarded membership into Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society.
He subsequently completed a full five-year residency in general surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, where he trained under renowned surgeons, including Dr. Michael DeBakey. Finally, Dr. Altamira completed a full three-year residency training in plastic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.
In the Houston, Texas area, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. David Altamira maintains his private plastic surgery practice while also being on staff at several hospitals and serving on multiple hospital committees. He enjoys teaching and lecturing and is actively involved in the training and education of surgical residents.
