There may be times in life when looking tired is somewhat acceptable. Even then, most of us don’t tolerate looking fatigued for very long. As we age, the changes that occur in the epidermis and subcutaneous tissue often cause us to look tired even when we’re not. If you can relate with this problem, you probably also relate to the sentiment that we just don’t like it when we look tired all the time. We often say that that goal of cosmetic treatments is to look younger in general. What this really means, though, is that we look fresh, vibrant, as if we have some life energy coming out of us.
If you’re ready to restore that look of vibrancy, we can help. Here, we discuss a few of the popular treatments that are excellent options for ending that perpetually-tired appearance.
Eyelid Rejuvenation
The eyes have long been referred to as the windows to the soul. This old adage tells us that it is the eyes that portray our inner being. As we age, the eyes tend to narrow and close off. There are two reasons for this. One is that the tissue around the eyes is very delicate and it thins and loosens as collagen declines. The other reason the eyes look tired is that the muscles on the lower forehead pull downward and take the eyebrows with them. Drooping eyebrows then cause the upper eyelids to look heavy and saggy. And tired.
Eyelid rejuvenation can be achieved in a few different ways:
- Blepharoplasty is the surgical repositioning of fat and skin on the upper and/or lower eyelids. This approach achieves results that last years with minimal maintenance.
- Botox is commonly used to lift a slightly droopy brow line. One treatment can relieve the heaviness of the upper eyelids for 3 to 6 months.
- Dermal fillers are used for the lower eyelids to camouflage puffiness and dark circles. Results are immediate and can one to two years.
- FaceTite is a sophisticated new procedure that liquefies fatty tissue and causes tissue contraction that leads to smoother, younger-looking skin. Results can last one year or more. In addition to provoking tissue remodeling under the eyes, FaceTite is an excellent, minimally-invasive treatment for the jawline.
