- Kegel Exercises
Kegel exercises were recommended to many of our mothers. These exercises are convenient and discreet so can be performed while a woman is at work, in her car, or relaxing at home. Kegels are also seemingly easy; they involve contracting and releasing the pelvic floor muscles. Simple enough, right? Not really. The more one looks at Kegel exercises, the more it becomes apparent that contractions need to be conducted mindfully in order to achieve the desired outcome. It can take time to learn how to do this right, but the effort is worth it.
- Vaginal Weights
There are a few different kinds of vaginal weights used today. Vaginal cones are two-part systems that contain a cone that is inserted into the vagina and a collection of graduated weights. This allows the user to increase weight (attached to the cone) as her pelvic muscle strengthens. Ben Wa Balls are another kind of weight. As they sound, Ben Wa Balls are weighted on their own. Finally, some women use yoni eggs, a similar item to Ben Wa Balls, which come in various weights. For improvement, vaginal weights must be used at least a few times a week.
- Non-Surgical Vaginal Rejuvenation
Several years ago, vaginoplasty surgery became an option for restoring structure to the vaginal canal. However, surgery is inaccessible to many women and downright unappealing to others. Enter medical intervention. In our practice, women interested in addressing weak pelvic muscles as well as other signs of vaginal atrophy (dryness, painful sex) can do so in a few comfortable, convenient appointments. EmpowerRF uses radio frequency and electrical muscle stimulation to rehabilitate a number of vaginal concerns.
