Summertime May be a Great Time for These Cosmetic Procedures

During the summer months, we tend to get out and engage in a more active lifestyle. Your summer may include days at the pool, weekend hikes, biking, or a sweet vacation you’ve been looking forward to all year. The very nature of summertime puts you in a unique position to want to look your best. We get it because we’re just like you! Cosmetic enhancements are our specialty, and we don’t see a slow-down during summer. In fact, there are many people for whom summertime is the best time to obtain certain surgical procedures. Statistics show that the mid-year months may be ideal for:
Two standard procedures are typically sought by men and women who are interested in turning back the clock: blepharoplasty and facelift surgery.
Blepharoplasty procedures have continued to increase in popularity. In fact, many people report that having their eyelid concerns corrected has diminished their desire for full facelift surgery. Blepharoplasty may revolve around the upper eyelids and the tightening of tissue that has become saggy. It may also focus on the lower eyelids and the correction of puffiness and dark circles that have occurred with age. Because recovery is relatively short-lived, blepharoplasty is a wonderful summertime treatment, especially for individuals who get summers off.
Facelift surgery continues to be popular among men and women from their mid-forties on up. This procedure is the gold-standard for restoring structure to the lower two-thirds of the face. There are three different types of facelift techniques that may be considered. The method that is appropriate for you is based on the extent of tissue laxity that has occurred. For instance, if the primary concern is mild to moderate sagging across the mid-face, a limited-incision facelift may achieve the desired results. Facelift procedures typically need about two weeks of recovery for swelling to subside. After that, any lingering effects such as minor bruising and swelling can be easily disguised.
Just because summer has begun doesn’t mean the window for body contouring has closed for the season. There is no time like the present to look and feel your best, regardless of the time of year. Body contouring in our Houston area offices may involve tumescent or laser-assisted liposuction for fast and more dramatic results. Downtime after liposuction is as little as a few days (minus a longer wait to get back to strenuous exercise). Residual swelling continues to diminish over several weeks.
Body contouring can also take place with a non-surgical approach. While CoolSculpting may occur in spurts over the entire course of summer, there is no downtime after each treatment, and your body will continue to look better and better as the summer wears on.
