Can I Get FaceTite if I Have Fillers?
- Posted on: Feb 28 2022
Many adults have to balance their desire to address troubling signs of aging like jowls and sagging skin with hesitancy to have plastic surgery. While the surgical facelift experienced a surge in popularity this past year, we also recognize the strong preference that some people have to stay in the non-surgical realm when it comes to anti-aging. This is one of the many reasons we are proud to offer FaceTite treatment as an alternative to facelift surgery. Like surgery, FaceTite has a scope of possibilities and limitations, including when to schedule this procedure if you regularly get dermal filler injections. We’ll discuss more here.
What is FaceTite?
A traditional facelift restructures the contours of the face via small incisions around the ears. The FaceTite procedure works by delivering radiofrequency energy in a unique way that stimulates natural tissue remodeling. Make no mistake, though, just because FaceTite does not manually lift and reposition tissue, it can achieve profound results. This popular procedure can correct mild to moderate signs of aging that include:
- Fine lines and creases
- Sagging jowls
- Skin laxity along the lower face
- Loose, thin skin on the upper neck and chin area
Who Can Have FaceTite?
People who come to our Houston or Sugar Land office for FaceTite first undergo a comprehensive consultation and examination of their facial structure and skin. Patients should be ready to discuss their medical history, current health, use of supplements, and also when they’ve last had treatments like Botox or dermal fillers. Our goal is to ensure the safest and most satisfying treatment for every patient. To that end, doctors typically advise patients not to undergo FaceTite within 6 to 8 months of having had injectables.
How FaceTite Works
The FaceTite procedure is performed with a local anesthetic. Patients do not feel discomfort as Dr. Altamira makes a tiny nick in the skin at the lower jaw area. He inserts the small probe through the nick and moves it carefully in a back and forth motion. As the probe moves, it delivers powerful, controlled radiofrequency energy that liquefies fat cells and simultaneously stimulates a collagen remodeling process. A built-in thermometer continually measures tissue temperature to ensure safe and uniform energy delivery. The average Facetite procedure takes less than an hour, after which patients can go home and rest for the remainder of the day.
There is little downtime needed to recover from FaceTite treatment. The lower face may appear red and swollen for a few days. Patients may be instructed to wear compression for the first couple of days and then only at night for a total time of two weeks. This helps reduce side effects and also supports new facial contours as they develop. The improvements achieved appear gradually over up to 8 weeks.
